Caravan and campervan exteriors can be colourful and exciting and illustrate the personalities of their owners. Would you dare to be so bold and stand out from the crowd?
Paint your wagon: SPECTACULAR EXTERIORS AND BOLD STATEMENTS
With current talk and debate about the ‘white box’, here at Freedom to Go we thought we would search out 5 incredible exteriors to show that caravans and motorhomes are anything but uninspiring. In fact they’re exactly the opposite. Look at them as a blank canvas on which to paint, spray or make an addition to make them stand out from the crowd. That’s exactly what the following owners did.
5 – take the beach with you
The sun may always not be shining but with this cheerfully painted caravan the owners feel warm and optimistic wherever they roam. This is just one of the many colourful caravans that belong to members of the ‘Sisters on the Fly’ club. A group of ladies who are the largest outdoor women’s group in the United States – their motto is ‘We have more fun than anyone’!
With caravans as bright and packed with personality as this we can see why.

4 – super cool innovation: the colim
Less a lick of paint more an architectural feat of innovation, when designer Christian Susana needed something flexible that could serve as both a holiday home and car, he made his own! Part caravan, part car, the entire cab of the vehicle splits from the back end to provide a run around vehicle that slots back into place like a piece of Lego to create a cool mobile home.
Called the COLIM (Colours of Life in Motion) the interior is on show in a bold statement of design.

3 – go green
Well Ray Mears did mention that he wished all caravans were painted green! That’s why we love Happy loves Rosie’s vintage Holivan. In go faster caravan green it looks like more like its owners, Happy Harris and her daughter Rosie, like to take things a little slower though and enjoy some of the cutesier things in life rounded off with a cup of tea.
You can see more of Happy loves Rosie’s vintage collection at their online shop happylovesrosie.com
2 – is it or isn’t it?
Yes, would you believe it is a static caravan! Beautifully and environmentally clad the Brockloch Bothy looks out over the Galloway Hills and is officially a static caravan for planning permission purposes.

1 – STUNNING CARAVAN INTERIOR
Our favourite caravan exterior is by Amsterdam based graffiti, street and contemporary artist Ottograph who paints a painting everyday. One of Otto’s daily projects was an old caravan. Watch the video to see how it turns out.

If you don’t have time to do it yourself some hip caravan manufacturers like Adria or Kip will do it for you by providing a range of exterior designs for you to choose from when buying your new caravan.
