Our Freedom To Go surf ambassador Melodie King finds surf stardom, gets inspired and shares her training tips to stay ahead of the competition this year!

For me, being the ambassador for the Freedom To Go campaign at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2015 was one of the most exhilarating and exciting experiences in my life so far! I'm so proud of myself for being so brave an talking in front of so many people. It has definitely boosted my confidence for future events.
I think Freedom To Go is such an amazing, inviting campaign which aims to get as many people, like you or me out there living life to the full and being part of the great outdoors. During my stay at the NEC I met some extremely inspiring and lovely people; one of them being Richard the adventurer, I listened to his fascinating stories every day and they amazed from start to finish. He has done some brilliant, crazy things in his life and has definitely inspired me to do more things like that! We have swapped contact details so hopefully there are some exciting things to come in the future. I also met an incredible family called the Meeks, what is there not to say about them? They are so fascinating, all their stories about little family adventures and doing things that normal family's might not do. I loved them because it almost reminded me of when I was younger and my family and I used to go on crazy trips and adventures pretending to run away from the Pirates and things like that!
I am so excited for the competition season to start, I feel my surfing has really improved and I'm so amped to get out there! I'm so prepared to do whatever it takes! I have daily fitness routines which now the evenings are lighter gives me more time to surf after college. I also stick to a healthy food regime too lots of fresh fruit and vegetables . If the surf's flat, I Indo Board or cruise on my skateboard .
I have professional coaching weekly with Tyson and I went from 27th in the women's open to 10th in 2014 so hope to get even better this year. I am currently 5th in the under 18's and look to improve on this too .
